The weather was nice today. I had a long Thursday and Friday. I actually added 3 more inspections to my agenda by calling into the office and finding more. I was able to look at 20 total properties. I dropped the camera off a 2 story house....broke it. I went to target and found a nice replacement for not too much $$$. That took about 25 minutes out of an already busy day. I took approximately 480 pictures on 19 rolls. Got to chat with a whole bunch of different people....some very nice, some bitter assholes. I was able to catch the end of survivor, I'm glad john is gone....I kind of liked it when he wimpered that he wasn't going to be able to retire, but that he's proud that he made it to the jury.
Mowed the grass today, cleaned up the snow blower and stored it in the back of the garage. Jane and Ellen when to a baby shower today; Sarah went to a birthday party. Now I will veg out and later watch mad tv, hopefully to see stuart...someone worthy had to replace my funny chris farley, later, ron.

It's nice to see it still light out at this time and even later. Work was fast today. I did as much as I could before I packed up my camera, ladder, etc. to go to Racine. I will leave tonight, stay a few hours in a hotel and then start the day around 7am. I will probably be making my rounds to as many houses as I can until it gets dark. Then I will wrap up the misc. stuff or houses I missed by checking them on Friday. What I am doing is checking for hail damage mostly. Some of my stops are for water damage, wind damage, etc. I check for damage, write estimates, pay contractors, etc.
Most of the time I orchestrate this stuff from my office. I just felt like it was time that I went down there to tackle some of the work. I have 17 scheduled homes to inspect in the time I am down there. Just by being down there and doing the work myself, I will be saving the company about $6000 in expenses, but probably a lot more because I will be able to write fair, accurate estimates. (sometimes estimates are over-inflated, undamaged stuff is added, and so on) Our range for removing and replacing a square of shingles is $170-$180/sq. in the racine area. Jim and Bob, you should know a little about this. Some contractors are charging $250/sq. and some larger insurance companies are paying it.... Rediculous!!!
For those of you that want to know, a square is 100 sq.ft. of roofing. It is a 10ft. x10ft. area. that is just the basic measurement contractors use to remove and replace damaged roofing.
later, Ron.
Oh, Ellen, Sarah, and Jane. I will see you Friday!!!

Today started a little slow with the rain and cloud cover. I did some grocery shopping in the afternoon with Sarah, we bought quite a bit...no, we didn't drive to Eau Claire or Chippewa to grocery shop....
Ellen went to a roller skating birthday party with a friend. We all went on a bike ride around 5:00. It was a good ride. Ellen and Sarah rode behind either of us on pull alongs. With our hills, it's nice they can help peddle too.
I will be visiting the Racine area on Thursday and Friday for some inspections for work. I will primarily be inspecting roof's for hail damage.
Jane's talking to the guinee pigs right now. I'm going to go to bed soon. The x-files tonight was good....I'm already looking forward to next week's episode.
